The 13 year old was on scintillating form, having not raced there since the accident and not been available for the open practice sessions on Saturday, he had just the three compulsory practice laps on Sunday morning to familiarize him self with the track.
It was Dunkeswell where Robbie had his first ever Honda Cadet win, he soon proved he had remembered the best lines around the superb track. In the first of three heats his confidence was boosted with a terrific win in the Honda Cadet class, this was to be repeated in the two subsequent heats also taking fastest lap in all three heats it was dream return for Robbie. This put him on pole in the Honda Cadet class of 18 for the final. With the temperature increasing, tyre pressures were going to be crucial; with the Prokart team that normally runs Robbie on holiday it was up to Dad Julien to get the set up spot on. Robbie made an excellent start then there was a tangle in the fourth corner, this put Robbie back to 7th he had his work cut out and got back to the front and take the lead, only for the race to end prematurely when the red flag went out due to an accident, thankfully no one was hurt and Robbie could celebrate his superb days racing, winning all three heats and the final in the Honda Cadet class also taking fastest lap in all four races.
Robbie commented; “I only decided to race late on Saturday, so a big thanks to my Dad who set my Kart up brilliantly, it was great to be back at Dunkeswell and now I can remember winning there again and not the accident”
