He arrived over the weekend and joined his new teammates for the first time at training yesterday (July 27). Chard begin Tuesday sessions with aerobics, and Chard coach Steve Broome said: "I think this was a little eye-opener for him.
"He's not done anything quite like it before and I think he knew what it was all about at the end."
Chard will have two Kiwis playing for them, the other being back Neil Douglas who has already been with the South Somerset club for three weeks.
Douglas, a fitness instructor, will be coaching Chard's backs.
Both Carter and Douglas will be in Chard's squad for their opening pre-season friendly - at home to Honiton on Tuesday, August 17.
It is one of four warm-up games which have been arranged by Chard. |
