Good turnout for Babas' first training session | | |
| MINEHEAD Barbarians are back in full training at Ellicombe Road after last season's tough winter. | About 30 players turned up for the first serious pre-season session last nightg (July 6).
"I was pleased with the turn-out because it's early days yet," said coach Andy Stevens.
"I expect numbers to grow in the next few weeks. We've got seven weeks to get everyone fit.
"One worrying aspect at the moment is the dry grounds. They're very hard and that's where you get the early season injuries."
Minehead's problems with injuries last season are well documented but it will be a while before Stevens can forget what became almost a nightmare.
He could only put on a brave face as his injury-jinxed side battled in vain to avoid relegation from Western Counties.
