Taunton Rugby Club make £38,000 profit

TAUNTON Rugby Club will be announcing a pre-tax profit on the year of £38,000 at its annual meeting later this month.

And £100,000 from a "cash surplus" is being used to improve facilities at Hyde Park before the new season gets under way. "I think this clearly shows we are investing both on and off the field, and that we are not spending money we haven't got," said Taunton's director of rugby Lee Waddon today (July 6). Taunton will be playing in National Two South this coming season, having achieved back to back promotions, and have made 11 new signings during the summer. "We now have strength in depth, which is something we didn't have last season," added Waddon. "We found out this to our cost last season when we lost our last four matches."
