Grand National legend Bob Champion heading for Taunton on June 10th

 

LEGENDARY jockey Bob Champion who overcame cancer to ride Aldaniti to victory in the 1981 Grand National will be making a flying visit to Taunton Racecourse on Thursday June 10th as part of his fund raising tour to visit 60 racecourses in as many days.

The former Grand National winner will be at Taunton Racecourse between 6.30 and 8.30pm and after taking those present on a tour of the jockey’s weighing room- a place that he will be more than familiar with, he will be joined by Martin and David Pipe who trained Comply or Die, the 2008 winner of the National In addition to the racing stars, England bowling legend Andy Caddick and Somerset cricketing hero Keith Parsons will also be attending an informal drinks reception with canapés that will be taking place in the hospitality suite aftewards. During the evening there will be the opportunity to meet the sporting heroes and find out all you wanted to know about racing but were to afraid to ask!
