Lady Captains Day raises £1100 for Alzheimers Association

 

THE Lady Captainís Charity Day took place at Taunton and Pickeridge recently and raised over £1100 towards the Alzheimerís Association.

This great fun day began with a Bowmaker competition before concluding with a hog roast and club quiz.

The winners on the day were Simon Foster, Andy Berry, Craig Valentine and Martin Brown winning with a tremendous score of 94 points.

Second place went to Chris Chedzoy's team who totalled with 89 points while third place was Roger Howard's† team with 87.

Lady Captain Jenny Bevan said: ďMy thanks to all players and especially the donations for the raffle and auction. This enabled my chosen charity Alzheimer's† Association to receive† the excellent sum of over £1,100, a wonderful effort.Ē

On Tuesday the Ladies Section played for the Joan Elliott Trophy which was won by Linda Knowles with a nett 73 two shots ahead of Katy Guest with 75.

In the Stableford† Competition the winner in the silver division was Carole Rotherham with 32 points beating Mary-Jo Shepherd on back 9.

The bronze division winner was Liz Cutler† with 32 points, one ahead of Shirley Portis who claimed second with 31, while Pat Follett with 28 was third on countback.

The Seniorís Section have continued to enjoy their season and over the course of the last six weeks have enjoyed victories over Wells and Vivary Park at home while they were defeated on their own course by Lyme Regis. On the road the Seniors have been beaten by Mendip and Vivary.

Two matches remain to be played this season one today and the other in early November.
