Forget about results of friendlies - says Robinson
| WELLINGTON manager Leigh Robinson has told his players not to worry about the results of pre-season friendlies. |
"Not long ago I wouldn't have been too happy if we had lost a friendly," said Robinson who is back with Wellington after a year with Bridgwater Town. "Now what I think is important is the performance of players - and their fitness.
"Early pre-season friendlies should be used to try out new things and to take a look at players.
"Obviously we want to be getting things right as the season builds up.
"No-one is going to look back on the result of friendlies once the season gets underway. That's when results matter."
Wellington play away to Combe St Nicholas on Thursday (July 22) and have a rearranged friendly at Okehampton on Saturday (July 24).
