Bridgwater Town set to lose virtually entire side

ZAMERETTO League club Bridgwater Town are facing a mass exodus of players to Weston super Mare.

They are looking to follow ex-boss Craig Laird who quit Bridgwater earlier this summer to manage Weston. As many as ten players are involved, but Bridgwater's new manager Rob Dray is playing down the loss of so many of his best players. He said: "It's frustrating to lose ten players - but I've told them that the door is always open if they want to come back. "We realise we are not going to have the best players in the league this season but we are determined to be the fittest and most orgamised team. "We are aware that we cannot compete with some of the bigger budgets in the division but we have got a great, young and hardworking bunch of players. One boost for Bridgwater is that the club's leading, all-time scorer Chris Young will not be joining Laird. The Bridgwater squad have trained at special sessions in Brean and Minehead's Butlins and the players are now raring to start the new campaign. Bridgwater, who play a friendly away to Cadbury Heath on Saturday (July 17), are away to the Royal Marines next Wednesday.
