The talented youngster represented Somerset at the English Schools Athletics Championships in the Birmingham Alexander Stadium over the weekend - and finished runner-up in the junior boys 100 metres final.
Wells, who only took up athletics this year, lost out by just .01 of a second to George Perkins, of Essex, who won in 11.25 seconds.
Despite his success at the championships, the City midfielder has no plans to take up athletics seriously and will be returning to football training this week.
His main aim is to put on some of the pounds he has lost this summer while training for the athletics championship. |
