Tuesday, January 12th 2010 sees STRAWBERRY LINE WI – a
newly launched female club – host its inaugural meeting at 7.30pm in
Cranmore’s Memorial Hall.
The celebratory champagne launch will be hosted by WI officials, Hannah
Edgar, Cobi Snelson and Joni Jennings, who have undertaken significant
work to establish a fresh WI following the closure of the Cranmore &
Doulting group in 2006 after 60 years in operation.
The evening will showcase “Chepstow Cupcake Company” gorgeous
edibles, which will be available for purchase.
Strawberry Line WI President, Hannah Edgar, said: “We are delighted to
launch Strawberry Line WI. We
set about this project some six months ago because of the lack of
activities for girls in the area.
Our desire is to banish the typical WI preconceptions of Jam &
Jerusalem, and create a lively and innovative club.
We look forward to welcoming many members of all ages.”
Throughout the year, Strawberry Line WI will welcome speakers from:
Somerset Lavender, Brown Cow Organics, Pampered Chef, The Body Shop,
Riverford Veg Box Scheme and Pilton Environmental Group.
As well as talks on Chocolate, Self Defence, Wine Tasting, Lessons
in Knitting, Living and Working in Afghanistan, Bee Keeping, Working with
Pandas … and welcome your suggestions …
Annual membership costs £29.50 - only £2.90 per meeting.
Monthly meetings will take place at 7.30pm (no meeting in August or
