Hi All
First and
foremost a big well done to Sampford Arundel who win your inaugural
league, closely followed by Wellington in second place with Up the 'Grove
completing the podium places. Along with Sampford Arundel we have also
decided our other award winners for 2010, however we will not be
announcing these until presentation day. Thanks must not only go to these
top performing teams and players but anyone who has become part of our
cricketing family, in whatever capacity, over the past few months. To
think that from scratch between us we have formed a competition with over
100 cricketers and 50 fixtures running over three months, is something we
can all be immensely proud of.
We will now go away and compile a
full set of stats for all teams which your league rep. will receive in
hard copy over the next month or two. Whilst we are busily working away on
that we will also be putting in place many more improvements to ensure
that come October we build on everyone's success from this season and
continue to strive to be the number one indoor league in the country. As
ever we intend to stay as far away from politics and committee led cricket
as is possible.
We have mooted the possibility of an All Stars
game at the Country Ground, Taunton between the six 'best' players from
your league versus the six 'best' from the Yeovil Conference. Whilst we
continue negotiations with Somerset it is possible that pricing may prove
prohibitive and without us wanting to pass significant costs onto your
players and clubs we may well have an alternative 'awards ceremony' come
Midsummer, we will of course keep your league reps posted on this.
Looking into the future whilst October may seen a while away and there
is much cricket for you guys to enjoy over the Summer we have attached the
registration form for 2010/11 to this email as I know some of you prefer
to fill it in and send back via the internet, let me remind you that the
price is frozen until July 1st but teams getting back to us before then
will be assisting greatly. As I have said before it is my utmost hope that
alongside one or two quality additions the league will retain a
similar makeup to this time around.
If you have any feedback from
the past few months please do drop me a line. Other than that I wish you
all the best for the summer and hope we, at Cougar Cricket, have enabled
you to hit the ground running for the outdoor stuff.
